Brooklyn vocalist and composer Will Downing has hovered on the leaflet of stardom since the late '80s, on occasion making some arresting album cuts simply ne'er the major score or string of records he needful to set up himself. Downing sang in Arthur Baker's "Wally Jump Junior" radical, and then employed Baker as his producer when he signed with Island. He did sitting work in the early and mid-'80s, tattle on dates with Daryl Payne, Marc Sadane, Warp 9, and Jennifer Holiday. Downing's 1988 debut, Will Downing, included a revised version of John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme." Downing recorded and produced a duet with British individual songstress Mica Paris in 1989, remaking "Where Is the Love." His mo release, Come in Together as One, was in more of an urban modern-day mode, but his third one took a jazz-oriented turn. 1991's A Dream Fulfilled included an ambitious version of War's "The World Is a Ghetto." He has been a dearie of audiences in England, simply did non tick with American R&B or urban present-day fans, releasing Pleasures of the Night in 1998 and All the Man You Need two long time later. Sensual Journey from 2002 found him transcription for the GRP label. Emotions arrived in 2003 and was followed a year later by the holiday album Christmas, Love and You. Soul Symphony arrived in 2005.

Compton, CA-based MC Guerilla Black, a drained dead ringer for Notorious B.I.G., was born in Chicago and spent time with his family in Mississippi before heading to the West Coast. An initial label deal fell through, leading Black to yield up on his ambitions; his life took an extreme turn for the worse when he lost his wife to meningitis, merely his crony coaxed him back into MC'ing. Virgin caught lead of his talent, sign him to a deal, and released the Irregular City record album in 2004. "You're the One," featuring Mario Winans, began to gather steam during the tooshie goal of the class.
